Priscila Chu

Artistic Director

Priscila Chu is a multi-disciplinary artist with a passion for researching different aspects of her craft through collaboration. A lifelong lover of the arts, she began studying piano and dance at a young age, graduated from York University and later obtained her PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University studying Collaborative Arts and Music Composition.

Inspired by artists like Shen Wei and Michele Van der AA, Priscila works towards analysing musical moments to create transformative experiences that are unique to the context she works in. Past reviews have described her work as “ever-changing”. The evolutionary quality to Priscila’s  work is inspired by her love of creating bonds between the ideas, performers, the time and the space they create in. Always humble, she believes in the continual evolution and improvement of the artist over their career.

In addition as a trained and experienced educator, she received a teaching diploma; and a Master's degree researching Music for Autism at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Priscila has devoted herself to educational projects, using arts as a tool to benefit students and the community.  She is passionate about making the arts accessible for everyone and creating meaningful moments in non-traditional spaces.

She believes the arts are a tool for manifesting her beliefs. Her recent creative works are known for being diverse, interactive and for bringing cultures together through collaboration.
Along with being the founder of AlpPla and Arts Platform, which are committed to researching, curating and producing arts programs worldwide.

“Collaborative art refers to the amalgamation of different art forms into an original work…This integration not only combines arts but also often brings together people, ideas, knowledge and even cultures.”- Priscila Chu

Carol Wong

2023-24 Collaborator

After graduating from the Dance Program at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Carol has worked as a freelance dancer and instructor. She has experience in teaching all ages of students from kindergarten to university along with working with social welfare societies and special education institutions throughout Hong Kong. She has also performed with many well known dance troupes throughout the city.

From 2020 to 2022, Carol worked on “As Flower, As Water, As Mother”, an artistic research project. Combining research with the forms of dance and music, they explored how mothers use their "five senses" to examine the differences between old and new parenting methods during these changing times. Carol and Priscila Chu created the work "Remembering. I."; an interactive exhibit.

Since 2011, Carol has shared her art and passion for cold-processed soap. She’s established her own brand "Soapmate" and opened her own studio where she creates her artisan product.

Carol has also recently joined the Institute of Brain Science and Mind Education to understand the teaching methods based on brain science. She is currently studying Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy to understand a body's natural wisdom to promote natural healing.

Yung Chimo

2023-24 Collaborator

Outside the train window, the sun beams through the cracks, flashbacks, of all kinds…
Like a burnt out candle with traces of blood and tears; homecoming,
Restore the Broken Nai River Bridge,
Pieces of Light, Ripples of Thoughts,
Was the Sun eight minutes and twenty seconds ago?
It comes into sight…
Revealing a roll of camera film, a fleeting instance,
A scene, a realm;
A realm, a scene.

The past, like Zhuang Zhou's dream,
when the butterfly meets him,
the once magnified totem in his eyes-
                                                           The whispering left unspoken-
And letters scribbled between fingers like ants,

intertwined in endless threads
like the threads of life in your palm, defining destiny
like a marathon along a wavy highway, falling behind
No one in sight, only the echo of panting
Of heaven and earth, only sadness flowing within your blood
Crushing the sky of a once-forgotten crystal ball in my grasp,
Sunshine and rain, like falling glass
Wake up! It is just an act on the stage,

The spotlight in front of my eyes.
Sun shines as usual,
like Ozu's "Tokyo Story", the train passing by everyone's [address]
Stop after stop...
The final destination, the silence after the whistle blows
The river remains flowing...

Outside the train window,
Nor rain nor sunshine,
The hours piercing the eyes
in a blink
A Scene, A Painting, A Poem, A Realm;
A World.
